“Welcome to Velesi, Princess.”
It is Lily’s first day in the Velesi realm but not as the princess she was made to believe, but as a captive to a strange Lithi elf name Ziri – Tharin and Tolan’s mysterious brother. Who is he and why has he taken her? Or is he only a pawn in someone’s deadly game of chess? Tharin and Lily discover a prophecy involving the Unnamed Sidhe and a way back to Eirrell, the birthplace of the Thirteen Clans. However, before they can get to the doorway to Eirrell, Lily must first make it to the Day of the Seating to take her rightful place on the throne of the Willow Clan. Tharin must keep Lily safe until the Day of the Seating even if it means keeping the beautiful Sidhe warrior Kalis close to him. Will he be able to protect his naïve, but stubborn bride-to-be not just from Harlu but from his warrior mistress? He once again turns to his brother and cousin, to only find that Tolan has his own problems with his feisty Julia. Thank goodness for the future king of Velesi that he has Phoris, Alorn and Mellis to cover his royal back. Welcome to Velesi, a realm existing alongside our own with their own rules, their own players and their own way of life.

This book actually came out a day before it was said to be released, which totally twisted my knickers!! Come on I missed out on a whole day of reading. So not acceptable, seriously miss Filloon if I didn't love your book so much me and you would be having words.
So to the story I loved, loved, loved it. Seriously it had everything you could ask for. Drama, angst, laughter and love. The first half of the book was a little slow for me but I loved trying to figure out what was going on and who the bad guys really where, I was wrong every time like but we can't all have great minds. This book takes off exactly where the first one left off (glad I re-read the first one right before). Like I said there wasn't much action in the first half but we where introduced to some amazing characters that I kept trying to figure out. We got to learn more about the Velesi realm and its history. The way Velesi was described just sounded so beautiful, I could feel myself being there in the story and didn't ever want to leave.
The book really picks up in the second half. There where lots more action and twice as much drama. I just wanted to slap Tharin silly sometimes, seriously has he ever met a girl before? There where some surprises, which I won't divulge to you.
Even though I loved this book, Lily really grated on my nerves sometimes. She needed to stop second guessing herself and just get on with it. She wasn't the strong, independent, feisty girl from the first novel, she seemed more like the female protagonists in most YA novels. It was like once she realised she loved Tharin she forgave him for lying to her, her best friend and kissing another girl. Come on Lily where has your backbone gone? She had such promise in the first book and I feel kind of let down that she transformed into another of these drivelling idiots without a mind of her own. There where points when she redeemed herself and I felt myself internally cheering but there was just too much forgiving and not enough arse kicking from her. That being said this was still a great read and don't think I'll be able to wait a whole year for the next one.

Will definitely be reading this book again. It was fabulous despite my problems with Lily.

  2. Kristerrn! Thank you so much for the AMAZING review! Although Lily has irritated the hell out of you...I'm happy that you haven't given up on her. :)

I just had to stop by and give you a personal "Thank you", my jai'loa and wishing you a wonderful and brightest of Holidays and New Years!

    My very warm regards,
    L. Filloon

PS - I'm definitely coming to you to get ideas of actors who might be best to play both Lily and Tharin. Keep an eye on my blog for details, I'll make it public during Spring 2013. Much love, Kristerrn!
