Witchful Thinking by H.P. Mallory

Series: Jolie Wilkins (3)

Paperback, February 28 2012, 336 pages
Goodreads | Amazon UK | Amazon US

Jolie thinks she’s seen it all, but life continues to spring surprises. The latest shocker? She’s just been crowned queen of the underworld. Jolie may possess a rare gift for reanimating the dead, but she doesn’t know the first thing about governing disparate factions of supernatural creatures. She can barely maintain order in her own chaotic personal life, which is heading into a romantic tailspin. First there’s sexy warlock Rand, the love of her life, from whom Jolie is hiding a devastating secret. Then there’s Sinjin, a darkly seductive vampire and Jolie’s sworn protector—though others suspect he harbors ulterior motives. As the two polar opposite yet magnetic men vie for Jolie’s affection, she must keep her wits about her to balance affairs of state and affairs of her heart. Overwhelmed, under pressure, and longing for love, Jolie decides it’s time to take charge—and show everyone that this queen won’t take jack.

Wow. Just wow! To say I'm a huge fan of the Jolie Wilkins series is an understatement. I loved this book. It starts off just after the big battle in the last book where we thought Jolie had died. Yet here she is with a whole new set of problems and she's better than ever. The storyline was fantastic, it kept me interested from beginning till end. There's a fare few times I laughed out loud at some of the things said (especially by Christa). I'm not really into the whole triangle thing going on. Its just that Rand is an OCD weirdo who has more mood swings than a PMTing chimpanzee. Then there's Sinjin, who's really just a piece of eye candy, smoking hot eye candy but still just eye candy. Although I do find myself leaning more towards Sinjin, yeah I know he's up to something, but at least he's honest with Jolie about him not being able to admit he loves her. There's definitely more to that guy and I can't wait to see what he gets up to in the next book. You could read this book as a stand alone novel I suppose as it does re-hash all the important parts of the previous books (which is seriously annoying if you already know what happened). The author is such a tease in the way she ended this book. I'm so glad I'd already purchased it and didn't have to wait for it to be released. To be honest I wasn't expecting much from this book as I'd kind of given up on the last book and the only reason I started re-reading this series was because I received the newest one as an arc. I'm super psyched I did though, I never would have forgiven myself for not reading this.

So its like super amazing and you should definitely read this series. Running off now reading the next one because I will just die if I don't find out Sinjin's plan!!

Au revoir...
